Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Tuesday inaugurated one of India’s biggest Skywalk bridges. The 570-metre long and 4.2-meter wide skywalk bridge connects the Mambalam railway station and T Nagar bus terminus.
மக்கள் திரளால் நிரம்பி வழியும் சென்னையின் வணிக மையமான தியாகராய நகரின் பேருந்து நிலையத்தை மாம்பலம் இரயில் நிலையத்துடன் இணைக்கும் ஆகாய நடைபாதையினை (Skywalk) திறந்து வைத்தேன்.

As per the official information, the project will help pedestrians and everyday one lakh people are expected to use it. The multi-modal project connects the railway station and bus stand.
Considered one of the longest skywalks in the country, it is equipped with escalator and lift facilities and also ensures public safety with CCTV cameras installed, and a connection to the police control room.
Additionally, it offers restrooms and trash cans. To aid the public, lights have been installed throughout the bridge.
The skywalk, built by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) at a cost of Rs 28.45 crore under the Smart City funds, aims to decongest the traffic at Ranganathan Street, Madley Road, Market Street. It is expected to be used by around one lakh people on a daily basis.
Chief Minister Stalin entered the skywalk bridge at the inauguration and afterwards engaged with the crowd gathered to see him, taking photographs with them as well.
Officials stated that they will place wheelchairs to help the disabled.
