The main agenda of the visit was empowering Tamil Nadu School children for global opportunities through partnership with Microsoft and bringing cutting edge robotics, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) education at school level.
On the invitation from Microsoft Philanthropy organization Anbil Mahesh Poiyyamozhi visited Microsoft Offices at Boston, USA along with Puhagh Gandhi (NRI Wing, DMK) to evaluate partnership with Microsoft specially focused on Technical Education and Learning Support (TEALS) framework at USA schools.
The Minister and his team was welcomed at Microsoft center by Microsoft team led by Cecil Sunder (Director Data & AI), Jay Natarajan (General Manager – Services), Peter Dzubay (Microsoft Teals Program Lead) and Andrea Russo (Microsoft Field Lead).
Minister Anbil Mahesh Poiyyamozhi visited prestigious Boston and Cambridge Rindge and Latin Public school classrooms to study state of art Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Literacy curriculum implementation that prepares next gen students.
He was briefed by Microsoft team, their partners and the representatives of the tech industry on the framework, technical curriculum and college preparedness of the high school children that was aptly supported through Microsoft TEALS program.
Later, Minister Abil Mahesh Poiyyamozhi met with Microsoft leads and partner organizations at Microsoft Technology Center and discussed on Tamil Nadu specific implementation models for Government schools across the state that is planned in multiple phases.
Phase I being a pilot for targeted rural and district schools as incubation and innovation centers with specific KPI’s, measures for success and outcome. Minister had a fruitful and transparent conversations with Microsoft and partner leads on certifying school children, bringing most advanced training on Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning education at the school level and furthering greater partnership and collaboration with global Microsoft organization in a sustainable manner.
Cecil Sunder and Jay Natarajan from Microsoft emphasized the need for greater collaboration between public and private partnership without boundaries and assured to work with larger Microsoft organizations to an inclusive MoU that enables comprehensive implementation of TEALS program in Tamil Nadu.
