The Tamil Nadu government has on Thursday announced the transfer and posting orders for six senior IAS officers. The newly issued orders are effective immediately. These transfers come as part of ongoing efforts by the Tamil Nadu government to optimize the performance of various departments and ensure effective administration.
C Samayamoorthy, a 2002 batch IAS officer, has been relieved from his position as Commissioner of Tourism and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation. He will now serve as the Secretary of the Human Resources Management Department. This change signifies a strategic move to leverage his expertise in a critical administrative role.
Shilpa Prabhakar Satish, a 2009 batch IAS officer who was previously the Mission Director of the National Health Mission, has been appointed as the Director of Tourism. In her new capacity, she will also serve as the Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation, overseeing a vital sector that contributes significantly to the state’s economy. Her appointment reflects the government’s commitment to boosting tourism development.
Dr. Atul Anand, an experienced 1994 batch IAS officer, will transition from his current role as Principal Secretary and Commissioner of Labour to the position of Principal Secretary of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department. His leadership in the MSME sector is anticipated to drive growth and innovation, which are crucial for economic development in Tamil Nadu.
Satyabrata Sahoo, a 1997 batch IAS officer, who has been managing responsibilities as the Chief Electoral Officer and Principal Secretary of the Public (Elections) Department, will now lead the Animal Husbandry, Dairying, Fisheries, and Fishermen Welfare Department as Principal Secretary. His extensive experience in governance will be pivotal in advancing the welfare programs in these sectors.
Dr. M Aarthi, from the 2012 IAS batch, has been named Deputy Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister. She will also continue as the State Project Director for Samagra Shiksha, taking on dual roles that highlight her capabilities in educational and administrative leadership. Her continued involvement in Samagra Shiksha emphasizes the government’s focus on educational initiatives.
Dr. A Arun Thamburaj, a 2013 batch IAS officer, currently the Project Director of the Tamil Nadu Health System Project, will be assigned as the Mission Director for the National Health Mission. He will maintain his additional charge as Project Director of the Tamil Nadu Health System Project, ensuring continuity in health project management.
