With digitisation becoming the norm in all government departments, the Information Technology Department of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday conducted a Cyber Security Awareness Programme for officials of the various State government departments.
The programme was inaugurated by T Mano Thangaraj, Minister for Information and Technology.
Speaking on the importance of Cyber Security Awareness among the government officials, T Mano Thangaraj said, “Tamilnadu is one of the pioneers of adapting digital services in its various operations. COVID pandemic passively pushed the use of digital services across the globe, which in turn apparently invited a large volume of cyber threats. It therefore becomes extremely essential to make all stakeholders aware of these threats in order to secure our digital assets.”
The Information Technology Department, ELCOT, TNeGA and CDAC have jointly taken steps to conduct such awareness programmes for Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), Information Security Officer (ISOs) and other officials belonging to various departments.
This program will result in training of 3000+ government officials over 100 online sessions and 20 classroom practical sessions.
Dr. Neeraj Mittal IAS, Principal Secretary IT; Ajay Yadav IAS, Managing Director, ELCOT; K Vijayendra Pandian IAS, CEO, TNeGA and Cdr LR Prakash (Retd.), Senior Director & Centre Head, CDAC Chennai were present at the event.
