Addressing at the meeting, the minister expressed that the Tamil Nadu government, which is implementing women-centric welfare schemes, will extend every possible help for upskilling the women along with FLO.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of ‘Mad About Madras (FLO Interstate 2023)’, an event organized by FLO to mark its quarterly Governing Council Meeting held at Hotel Intercontinental near Mahabalipuram. Office-bearers of 19 Chapters of FLOs from across the country and past presidents of the chapter were also present.

The MoU outlined the collaborative efforts between FLO and ANEW, emphasizing the non-monetary nature of the agreement. Under this MoU, FLO will offer courses, provide content and trainers, and issue certificates to beneficiaries.

FLO’s collaboration with ANEW was a significant step toward enhancing skills and education for underprivileged women. The objective of the MoU was to elevate the learning experience of ANEW’s beneficiaries pursuing the Basic IT program. FLO, with its extensive expertise, offered specialized courses, including Canva and ChatGPT, to further enrich the skills and career prospects of these women.

ANEW, on the other hand, integrated these courses into its existing programs, provided necessary infrastructure, and identified beneficiaries.

The agreement also highlighted the non-exclusivity of the relationship, respecting each others’ intellectual property rights.

As part of its 30-year celebration of FLO Chennai Chapter, the Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan released the ‘Pride of FLO – 30 years’ book at the event. This commemorative book reflected FLO’s 3 decades of journey in empowering women through entrepreneurship, skill enhancement, and education.

Raji Raju, Chairperson of FLO Chennai Chapter, said, “This collaboration reflected FLO’s unwavering commitment to empowering women through education and skill development. Together with ANEW, we were dedicated to creating a brighter future for these amazing women, providing them with the necessary tools to succeed in their careers.”

Sudha Shivakumar, National President of FLO said, “The 4-decade old FLO is working for women empowerment, upskilling women, supporting women startups, MSMEs. The organization also ensures government’s directive on women’s active participation as Directors in corporate entities, influencing the central and various state government’s on women related issues etc.’’

The event promised an engaging program that includes a choir performance by FLO Chennai in different languages, including Tamil. Sudha Raja of Sargam choir was felicitated.

FLO Chennai Chapter Chairperson Raji Raju and the representative of ANEW explained in detail about the MoU through PPTs.
