Tamil Nadu & Puducherry Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Sunil Mathur, IRS inaugurated 12 staff residential quarters of the Income Tax Department on KP Road, Nagercoil on Wednesday.

Sanjay Rai, IRS, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Madurai;. T Vasanthan, IRS, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax-1, Madurai and Ajay Sharma, Executive Engineer from CPWD, Madurai. Senior Officers and Officials of the Income Tax Department were present at the event.
- The construction of Income Tax Office building was completed during the month of April 2023
- The cost of acquisition of land for the entire premises was approximately Rs.12 Crores
- The cost of construction of office building was Rs.7.14 Crores and the cost of construction of residential quarters was Rs.4.55 Crores making the entire project cost Rs.11.69 Crores.
The Income Tax Department has been functioning at Kanyakumari District for the past 60 years in a rental premises. The construction of Income Tax Office building was completed during the month of April 2023. Subsequently, 12 residential staff quarters were constructed for the convenience of the officers and officials working in this station.
The cost of acquisition of land for the entire premises was approximately Rs.12 Crores. The cost of construction of office building was Rs.7.14 Crores and the cost of construction of residential quarters was Rs.4.55 Crores making the entire project cost of Rs.11.69 Crores.
