The Tamilnadu Nursery Primary Matriculation Higher Secondary and CBSE Schools Association (TNPMHSCSA) has, on Friday, urged the state government to withdraw the GO (Government Order) to taking over of private schools for COVID-19 quarantine purpose.
In an appeal to the Chief Minister, the Association Secretary K.R. Nandakumar appealed to consider using private engineering colleges located in urban and rural areas, private hotels, lodges, star hotels, marriage halls and community halls instead of schools.
Establishing quarantine facilities in schools will pose the danger of infecting students despite disinfecting/cleaning schools after the coronavirus completely contained, Nandakumar said.
“This will deter the parents to send their wards to private schools in the future, hence, the association, the umbrella body of the private matriculation, and CBSE schools appeal to the government to reconsider its decision and withdraw the GO to take over the school premises,” Nandakumar added.
