A fact checking platform is the need of the hour: social activists
As of now there is no common platform for fact checking to verify the genuineness of the messages circulating in social media handles such as – Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook etc. Only The Press Information Bureau (PIB) of the lcentral government has such platform to verify the genuineness of the social media messages and also news published in media.
It is time for the DIPR of Tamil Nadu state government/police department to create a common platform for fact checking the social media messages as well as news published in various mediums of media, opines social activists.
The minister also called up on the school and college students to come forward to eradicate the drug from the society.
He thanked the film director Vignesh Sivan for extending his help in selecting the top 4 awareness short films on “Drive Against Drugs’.
