As many as six people including two women were killed and several feared sustained injuries in an accident that took place in Thozhupedu near Acharapakkam on the Chennai-Kanyakumari National Highway on Friday morning.
A Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus bound for Chidambaram from Koyambedu in Chennai rammed a stationary trailer truck from behind at around 7.30 a.m. In the impact, the left portion of the TNSTC bus was completely ripped off.
Injured were shifted to Government Medical College Hospital, Chengalpattu. Acharapakkam police registered a case and investigating. Due to the accident, traffic on the Highway was affected for few hours.
