With an aim to ensure the health of Lord Shiva devotees, Mahashivaratri, the grandest event on the Isha calendar, will go online, according to a media release issued by the Isha, only a very limited number of people will be able to participate in the celebrations by prior registration only
In keeping with government directives to restrict in-person gatherings, this decision was taken, the release added.
Participants will be required to produce a COVID-negative test report to participate.
To control the crowd size and social distancing, this year an immersive meditative experience will be available as a paid programme and free online.
Adiyogi and Dhyanalinga will remain closed for four days, Monday to Thursday, March 8 to 11, both days inclusive.
Isha Yoga Center will welcome visitors to Adiyogi from 10:30 am onwards on Friday, March 12.
