Nammalwar Aiya dedicated his life to promoting organic farming, tree cultivation, and soil conservation. His efforts inspired numerous young people to embrace organic farming. Nammalwar also played a role in environmental initiatives alongside Isha. His legacy lives on through the Isha Save Soil Movement and the Cauvery Calling Movement. On Nammalwar’s memorial day, nature enthusiasts honor his memory in various ways. The Cauvery Calling Movement pays tribute to Nammalwar by planting timber trees in agricultural lands as a testament to his service.
As the plantation of timber trees is a solution to various environmental problems and an opportunity for the livelihood of farmers, the Cauvery Cry continues to encourage farmers to cultivate timber trees. Cultivating trees along with other crops in the fields or along fences provides additional income for farmers. Timber trees such as teak, neem, blackberry, banyan, yellow sandalwood, sandalwood, red sandalwood, kumil, and mahakani are suitable for cultivation. Farmers can also earn regular income by growing pepper on trees.

Quality Timber Saplings are grown at Isha Nursery Farms in Cuddalore and Tiruvannamalai. These saplings are then distributed to farmers by over 50 Isha seedling farms throughout Tamil Nadu for Rs 3 each. With the recent rainfall, farmers now have the opportunity to purchase these saplings and begin cultivating them.
