The Chief Minister pointed out that drawing importance of the ‘Yoga’, Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi has inspired the world to celebrate June 21 as the ‘World Yoga Day’ every year. However, giving the backdrop of the present scenario, Rupani said that this year too, the celebration will be similar, but, the celebration will be under the campaign of ‘Do Yoga, Beat Corona’. And, we will surely succeed in defeating the Corona through Yoga.
For the ‘World Yoga Day’, the Ayush Ministry has decided ‘Yoga at Home’ and ‘Yoga with Family’ as its themes for the current year. Therefore, people should enhance the health of an individual and family by practicing yoga at a safer place like home, the Chief Minister urged the 6-crore citizens of Gujarat.
The Chief Minister also said that the popularity of Yoga is spreading rapidly in developed countries like America, Germany, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and others because of its potentiality to boost physical as well as mental health.
Disclosing the roadmap of spreading awareness of yoga in Gujarat, Rupani stated that each and every RJ of all the FM stations has been appointed as ‘Brand Ambassador’ for Gujarat. These RJs will disseminate the inestimable benefits and information of yoga in a variety of styles to the 6-crore Gujaratis living in Gujarat.
During this six-day long campaign, national and internationally prominent yoga gurus such as Swami Ramdev Baba, Shri Shri Ravi Shankarji, Shri Sadhguru, and others will give their live guidance on Yoga, Pranayama, and Meditation on social media networks. Similarly, Gujarat’s well-known personalities such as a fitness expert Sapna Vyas, young entrepreneur Pravinbhai Adani, and Cricket stars – Ravindra Jadeja, Cheteshwar Pujara, young cine star of Gujarat Ronak Kamdar and Esha Kansara and others will also participate in the campaign.
Besides these, under the ‘Do Yoga, Beat Corona’ campaign two tasks have been set up. On June 16, Tuesday has been selected to make a placard ‘Do Yoga, Beat Corona’ by everyone and should be displayed on social media. And similarly, on June 19, Friday, everyone should place their photos in yoga posture on social media to give thrust to the campaign. This way, we should build an ‘Information Bank’ on benefits of yoga for the world, Rupani appealed and added that “this would give Gujarat a new identity of ‘Land of Yoga’, which would be a proud moment for us.”
The Chief Minister said that the state government had already set up the ‘Gujarat State Yoga Board’ (GSYB). The main objective of the GSYB is to promote yoga for a healthy lifestyle and living a healthy life. The efforts of the board would make the present and future generations healthy and strong, he exhorted.
