Road traffic injuries are the eighth leading cause of death globally and the leading cause of death for children and young adults aged 5 to 29 years, causing 1.35 million deaths annually, according to the World Health Organization. Improvements in trauma care could save the lives of thousands of people injured in road traffic accidents in low- and middle-income countries annually.
Stating that complete trauma care, including life-saving interventions in the field, during transport and in the hospital, works very well to reduce deaths related to road traffic injuries, Tricolour Hospitals launched trauma care and emergency department on Friday.
The population, vehicular traffic, and road congestion of Vadodara have increased steadily during recent decades, and pedestrian and parking facilities in the city are still very limited. In terms of traffic accidents, Sanskar Nagri Vadodara City has seen in 464 accidents in 2021 to around 247 so far 2022 in Vadodara City. Similarly in Vadodara Rural area the number of road accidents were 577 in 2021 andround 272 accidents so far this year. The important fact we have to keep in mind is the steep and dangerous rise of fatal accident cases and growing incidences of accidents requiring Emergency and Trauma based services, say medical practitioners.
