Times of India Tirupur District Reporter Rajasekar (32) and his mother Jamuna Rani (53) were killed in a road accident near Tirupur on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The accident took place when the car in which Rajasekar, his mother and family members were travelling dashed against a bus in a curve near Annur Pirivu under the jurisdiction of Avinashi Police station.
Rajasekar’s mother died on the spot, while Rajasakar died at a hospital in Coimbatore.
Rajasekar, his sister and their children were returning home after inviting a relative in Mettupalayam for the baby shower function of Rajasekar’s wife, who is pregnant now.
The injured were admitted to a hospital in Coimbatore. Avinashi police have registered a case and are investigating.
