GLS University successfully hosted the 2nd Convocation Ceremony of the GLS-UTSC Global Program, celebrating the academic achievements who will now embark on the next phase of their educational journey in Australia. The event, held at the GLS University campus, marked another milestone in the institution’s vision for transnational education (TNE), developed in collaboration with the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) College, Australia.

The GLS-UTSC Global Program offers a unique international pathway in Business and Information Technology, wherein students study their first year in India and complete the remaining two years at UTS College in Australia. Since its inception in 2023, the program has established itself as a model of cross-border academic excellence, combining Indian values with global standards. Notably, students are supported through in-house IELTS and PTE training, achieving a high success rate in international placement readiness.

Sudhir Nanavati, President of GLS University, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the graduating students and applauded their determination, academic excellence, and global aspirations. He emphasized that programs like GLS-UTSC reaffirm GLS University’s commitment to shaping globally responsible leaders and professionals.

The convocation began with the official declaration by the President of GLS University, followed by a welcoming address from Dr. Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director and International Director of GLS University. In her keynote, she highlighted the vision behind launching the program and praised the graduates for their resilience, curiosity, and integrity.

The ceremony featured a Progression Report by Dr. Dharmesh Shah, Provost of GLS University, outlining the students’ academic growth, extracurricular participation, and preparedness for global education. He acknowledged the dedication of students and faculty in shaping this outcome.

A special Convocation Address was delivered by Morwenna Shahani, CEO of UTS College, Australia, who congratulated the graduating batch and encouraged them to embrace global learning with confidence and adaptability.

Diplomas were conferred on students by the university dignitaries, followed by a vote of thanks from Dr. Kalagi Shah, Academic Manager of the Diploma of Business program at GLS-UTSC. The convocation concluded with the national anthems of Australia and India, and the GLS Anthem — symbolizing unity through education.

Speaking about the event, Dr. Kapadia remarked: “We launched a vision to create a truly global academic experience, and today we celebrate not just academic success but the spirit of perseverance, character, and integrity in our students.”

GLS-UTSC continues to be one of India’s premier transnational education models, producing globally competent professionals and promoting educational exchange between India and Australia. The graduating students now move forward as global citizens, equipped with the values and skills to succeed in an interconnected world.
