TRIFED (Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd.),  under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, on Saturday announced the initiation of the 11-day Transcendent Tribal Artisan Empanelment Melas (TAeM) in Tamil Nadu.

A series of Tribal Artisan Empanelment Melas (TAeM) at different locations in Tamil Nadu is being organized to buy handicrafts of tribal artisans and to empanel them.#Tribal #Artisans are welcome!!

Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, these exclusive events aim to provide a platform for talented tribal artisans to be empaneled and recognized for their exceptional craftsmanship. TRIFED’s commitment to empowering indigenous communities and preserving their cultural heritage shines through this endeavor. Thus tribals in Tamil Nadu will become self-employed and self-reliant, says a release.

  • It will be held in various picturesque locations across Tamil Nadu, including Kothagiri, Ooty, Yercaud, Kollihills, Yelagiri, Jamunamarathur
  • The TAeM events will showcase a breathtaking array of tribal art forms, including handwoven textiles, intricate jewelry, sublime woodwork, exquisite pottery, and mesmerizing paintings
  • It will be held from Monday, the 17th to Thursday, the 27th of July

From the 17th to the 27th of July, TAeM will be held in various picturesque locations across Tamil Nadu, including Kothagiri, Ooty, Yercaud, Kollihills, Yelagiri, Jamunamarathur. Tribes from diverse backgrounds are invited to participate and showcase their extraordinary artistry, unique traditions, and remarkable skills. The empanelment process will facilitate enduring support, market access, and opportunities for collaborations with designers, exporters, and stakeholders in the handicraft sector.
