AHMEDABAD, MAY 1
Humanity has no religion or community. This has been proved by two Good Samaritans in Sarkhej area of Ahmedabad on Saturday. To ensure that their help reaches the poor and needy irrespective of their religion or caste, they took the help of a local corporator.
When the entire world is going through the severe second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, many daily wagers have been rendered jobless. They are in dire need of help to survive.
In such a situation, two friends, Jehan Dalal and Rohan, in their 20s, came forward to help such people. The duo distributed ration (grocery) kits, cloth masks, and sanitizers in large numbers free of cost to needy people living in Sarkhej Bazar in Sarkhej area of Ahmedabad.
To show their gratitude to the corona frontline warriors, policemen, who perform their duty in the scorching sun and risking their lives amidst COVID-19, they gave ‘chaas’ (buttermilk).
To help them find the needy people of the area, they sought the help of Sarkhej corporator Jayesh Trivedi who facilitated them in hassle-free kit distribution.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Jehan Dalal said, “These are so harsh times we are living in. We just wanted to help people in whatever way we can and hence we chose to do this kit distribution to the needy. My friend and myself want to share the message to the youth of the city that If you can help out anyone, then please do it because it’s the least we can do in such times.”
