Udhagai forest officials nab 2 for taking tourists on night safari illegally

UDHAGAMANDALAM, SEPT 5

The owner and driver of a jeep were arrested on the charge of taking four tourists illegally on a night safari in the Singara forest range in Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, forest officials said on Sunday.

They were arrested and produced before a Magistrate who remanded them in judicial custody, the officials said adding that the vehicle was seized.

The tourists, belonging to Coimbatore, reportedly paid Rs 5,000 each to the arrested two for the safari.
