University of Ladakh Vice Chancellor Prof SK Mehta flagged off a batch of 30 students on an exposure cum study tour to University of Gujarat, on Thursday. Students from different faculties of Taru campus in Leh, are visiting the Gujarat University in Ahmedabad. Similarly, University of Ladakh Registrar Kacho Ishtiaque flagged off another batch of 30 Post Graduate students from Kargil campus.
Prof SK Mehta said, exposure cum study tour is the part of MoU signed between both the Universities to have exchange programmes for the students. These tours are planned in such a way to understand the traditions, lifestyles, culture along with education in the visiting university. He said, students from different faculties will attend the classes and take up small projects during their tour. Prof Mehta also said, University of Ladakh has already opened a Ladakh Centre in University of Gujarat and a similar centre will be opened by Gujarat in Ladakh.
One of the students going on an exposure tour Tashi Dolker said, the students are excited about the first ever tour to Gujarat University. She said the tour would help them gain knowledge and have exposure to different academic and cultural atmospheres.
University of Ladakh officials Konchok Angmo, faculty members Dr Riyaz Khan, Dr Sonam Joldan and staff were present during the flag off ceremony.
