NEW DELHI, JULY 31

“Today, data has revealed that unemployment is at its peak due to demonetization, GST, and COVID pandemic.” Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav stated at the ABP News “Shikhar Sammelan – Bharat Ka Budget”, while sharing his views on the Union Budget 2024.

Elaborating upon employment and investment challenges, Akhilesh Yadav further added, “RBI reports there are enough jobs, but Government reports indicate a dearth of jobs. Government is offering jobs worth Rs 5000/-. UP has received lowest FDI despite having a double-engine Government.”

Clarifying his stance on the packages awarded to Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav remarked, “We have no complaints against Andhra Pradesh and Bihar receiving packages but other states should not be sidelined.”

Speaking about development in the state, Akhilesh Yadav, the MP from Kannauj, remarked, “Why weren’t circle rates not increased for agricultural lands and farmers were not adequately compensated?”

“When we built Expressway, Prime Minister himself landed via airplane. This is the quality of construction and development done by Samajwadi Party. The current Government couldn’t add a single metro line after they came to power.” He added, “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas should not be a slogan, it should reflect in the actions and work of the Government.”

Commenting on the recent state directives for shopkeepers around Kanwar Yatra, Akhilesh Yadav, said, “I thank the Hon’ble Supreme Court for ordering a stay on the UP Government directives to display names on shops on the route to Kanwar Yatra.”

Sharing BSP’s future electoral plans, Akhilesh Yadav, said, “The India coalition will continue outside UP and wherever the local leadership can win, we will put up a collective fight together. Samajwadi Party has risen to the position of third party in the country. We are the leading party in the state. In 2027, we will form the Government in UP.”

Remarking about the possible alliance with BSP, he said, “We will make fruitful alliances. We welcome the new leadership in BSP, and hope they will bring some new ideas.”

Commenting on the dynamics with TMC and Congress who are often seen criticising each other, Akhilesh Yadav, clarified, “We are continuing the relationship with TMC as well as the alliance with Congress. We will not compromise on our relationship due to alliance.”

“There’s a huge difference between perception and reality. Custodial deaths are increasing in UP. There’s casteism involved in deciding postings in UP.” Akhilesh commented on the law and order in the state.
