Veranda Race, part of Veranda Learning Solutions, announced that it has rolled out over 60 Braille Books to help visually challenged students to clear the TNPSC (Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission) examinations and enable them to achieve their dreams.
January 4 is celebrated across the world as World Braille Day. A phonetic alphabet system invented by visually challenged teacher Louis Braille in the 1800s, Braille is today one of the key modes of literacy for the visually challenged across the globe.
- Veranda Race provides visually challenged students a high-level training free of cost along with Veranda Race’s original Braille books, to help them with their preparation

Veranda Race provides visually challenged students a high-level training free of cost along with Veranda Race’s original Braille books, to help them with their preparation. These students are given rigorous mock tests supplemented by special sessions conducted by subject matter experts and are supported by mentors.
Braille books cost at least 30-50 percent higher than others and the entire cost will be borne by Veranda Race so that it does not impede the students’ progress. Veranda Race already assisted 6 visually challenged students with their Braille Books. Vijayalakshmi (Group II Prelims) and Rajalakshmi (Group II Prelims) – both visually challenged — cleared the exams in their maiden attempt. “Veranda Race has been very supportive throughout my preparation. The Braille books given by them were very useful for my exam,” said Vijayalakshmi.
Veranda Race also plans to build a separate Braille library for competitive exams. This library will be equipped with high-quality, engaging content to bolster the preparation of visually challenged students in their journey to a government job.
Kamalakannan, senior trainers at Veranda Race, said, “We are proud to offer a large number of Braille Books to visually challenged students so that they can work towards fulfilling their dreams of clearing the TNPSC examinations and pursue careers. At Veranda Race we believe that education must be accessible to all students from all walks of life.”
