Global home appliance major Versuni has expanded its manufacturing footprint in India with the launch of a new production facility near Chennai on Monday, reinforcing the company’s strategy to deepen localisation and meet rising demand for innovative home appliances in the country.

The expanded manufacturing hub, spread across 12,000 square metres, will significantly enhance production capacity for high-growth product categories such as airfryers, air purifiers and kitchen appliances, while strengthening supply chain efficiency for the Indian market.
A key addition to the facility is a dedicated airfryer motor manufacturing line, enabling the company to scale production and support its broader localisation roadmap.
Addressing a media conference in Chennai, Gulbahar Taurani, MD & CEO, Versuni India highlighted India’s importance in the company’s global growth strategy.
“India continues to be one of the most dynamic markets for home appliances globally. Expanding our manufacturing capabilities in Chennai allows us to strengthen localisation, scale production in high-growth categories, and respond faster to the evolving needs of Indian consumers. These investments reflect our long-term commitment to building manufacturing capability in India.”
Taurani said the expansion will also generate new employment opportunities in the region.
“The expansion of our facility near Chennai will provide direct employment opportunities to over 100 persons.”
The company is simultaneously strengthening its manufacturing ecosystem in western India as well.
“We are also expanding our facility and will inaugurate it in Bavla on the outskirts of Ahmedabad on Tuesday,” Taurani added.
He further emphasised the company’s progress toward complete localisation of its products in India.
“We have already achieved 94 per cent localisation of our products and are steadily moving towards 100 per cent ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ manufacturing.”
The Chennai manufacturing location incorporates smart automation and digital manufacturing capabilities, including robotic production systems, automated testing machines, conveyor-based material handling systems and IoT-enabled monitoring tools. These technologies are expected to improve operational efficiency, ensure consistent quality and enhance productivity.
With the expansion, Versuni aims to strengthen its manufacturing base in India while supporting the growing demand for advanced appliances across kitchen, garment care and air treatment categories.
