Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari on Sunday greeted Group Captain GPS Bakshi for having turned into a centenarian on Saturday, says a Defence release.

According to the release, Group Captain GPS Bakshi, an IAF veteran from Delhi, who was with the accounts branch, crossed the milestone of becoming a centenarian on Saturday. He was commissioned on August 19, 1945 and has been in service in the IAF when India was transiting and emerging as an independent nation. He retired after a glorious service to the IAF on October 31, 1976.
On this momentous occasion, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari has conveyed his best wishes to the veteran.
Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Accounts and Air Veterans) Air Vice Mshl Ashok Saini along with other senior IAF Officers, greeted the veteran at his residence on this occasion. IAF wishes him good health and happiness for the future, the release added.
