On the occasion of the fourth Veterans’ Day, a wreath-laying ceremony was conducted at the Golden Katar Division, Ahmedabad on Wednesday, January 15. 2020. Major General Dinesh Shrivastava, General Officer Commanding of Golden Katar Division, Officers, JCOs, Jawans and Vveterans laid the wreath during the ceremony.
The veterans interacted with the serving officers, JCOs, Jawans and shared their experiences. They were also briefed about new policies and welfare schemes available for ex-servicemen, martyrs and their families.
The main objective of the Veterans’ Day is to felicitate our veterans and solve the problems that they face after retirement.
Notably, the year 2019 was declared as the year of “Next of Kin” by the Indian Army. Under this initiative, a number of activities were conducted by the Golden Katar Division for reaching out to the next of kin of Ex-servicemen and martyrs and resolving their grievances. A job fair was also organised for Ex-servicemen at Ahmedabad in August 2019 as a part of the welfare scheme.
