Vijaya College of Nursing (VCON) had entered the Kalam Book of Records by holding a 10-hour long mime show on prevention and management of stomach cancer, a healthcare awareness initiative, said Bharathi Reddy, Madam Managing Trustee and CEO of Vijaya Medical and Educational Trust (VMET) here on Saturday.

“Vijaya College of Nursing achieved a remarkable milestone by setting a world record through a 10-hour-long perpetual awareness initiative focused on the prevention and management of stomach cancer, creatively presented through a captivating mime show. It had achieved this feat on Thursday, November 30, 2023,” a college release said.
More than 350 Vijaya College of Nursing (VCON) students have participated in this feat on Thursday. Students were divided into 30 batches of 10 plus students guided by teachers. The marathon mime show held from morning 8 hours to evening 6.45 hours for over 10 hours. The highlight of the program was that the parents of students were present during the show giving continuous motivation to them. This achievement was registered in the Kalam’s World Record, the statement added.
Commenting on this, Bharathi Reddy, Managing Trustee and CEO of VMET said, ”This program truly reflects the vision of Late Shri B Nagi Reddi, a great visionary who believed that all people irrespective of their caste, creed, and socio-economic status should have access to quality health care services at affordable cost.”
Kumarvel, Chairman of Kalam’s World Records was effusive in his reaction noting that this VCON Students participation and enthusiasm was extraordinary and ‘Vera Level’.
