Blood, the life saving fluid, cannot be produced in a laboratory but only in human body. Red blood cells, which are donated, carry oxygen from your lungs to tissues and bring carbon dioxide back to lungs. Though red blood cells make up almost half of our but their lifespan is around 120 days. Plasma fraction of blood which is donated is usually restored within 72 hours of blood donation while saving numerous lives.
Actor Karthi is acclaimed and adored as one of the most celebrated Tamil film industry actors. His fan base extends beyond the linguistic barriers and regional boundaries including Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam territories. His fan base isn’t merely about endorsing his silver screen celebrations, but are philanthropists, who never hesitate to extend their goodwill and help towards the needy in the society.
Significantly, marking the special occasion of Karthi’s 47th birthday on May 25, his welfare association members organized a blood donation camp all over Tamil Nadu. Around 200 fans across North Chennai, South Chennai, Central Chennai, Kallakurichi, Thiruvarur, Thiruvallur, and other places took part and made it a meaningful and successful occasion. Actor Karthi personally met and interacted with them as a token of expressing his gratitude.
He hosted a grand feast of delicious food for the blood donors on Sunday at T Nagar, spent quality time with them, and even took photographs with each and every one.
Later, addressing the crowd, actor Karthi said, “It gives me great happiness in meeting you all. I wanted to meet and spend time with you all during the blood donation camps organized on my birthday. However, I couldn’t make it due to some health issues. Next time, I will make sure to join you all for the special occasion.”
Furthermore, he added, “I am a member of the doctors’ group, and I keep noticing that there is always a heavy demand for blood, especially at the government hospitals. Instead, it is often reserved for their own family members. Your act of donating blood to strangers is truly remarkable. I am grateful to all of you for your selfless contribution. Thank you for choosing to do so at the government hospitals. I pledge to join you in this noble cause next year.”

He said, “I have completed a couple of projects, which will be released soon. Sardar 2 will kick-start shooting shortly. Next year, will have to munch on delicious Biriyani with Lokesh Kanagaraj (he indirectly mentioned the ‘Kaithi 2’).”
