Wagh Bakri Tea Group, a trusted name in the tea industry for 133 years, hosted the scholarship presentation ceremony for the recipients of the Shri Paragbhai Desai Wagh Bakri Scholarship 2024-25 at Wagh Bakri House in Ahmedabad on Monday.
The scholarship, instituted in 2022-23 in the memory of Late Shri Paragbhai Desai, provides financial assistance to deserving students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them pursue higher education in fields such as medical, engineering and paramedical.
Since its inception, the Shri Paragbhai Desai Wagh Bakri Scholarship has supported over 200 students with a total scholarship exceeding Rs. 1.75 crore. This academic year alone, 177 students have benefited from financial aid amounting to Rs. 70.10 lakh, showcasing Wagh Bakri Tea Group’s commitment to supporting education.
Senior management of Wagh Bakri Tea Group, including Vice Chairman & Managing Director Raseshbhai Desai, Executive Director Paras Desai, Whole-time Director Priyam Desai, Director Vidisha Desai, CEO Sanjay Singal and CHRO Nitin Naik were present on the occasion and presented the scholarships to 25 students.
In his address, Raseshbhai Desai, said, “Education is the foundation of a progressive society and we support various educational initiatives. With Shri Paragbhai Desai Wagh Bakri Scholarship, we are proud to support bright young minds in their quest for knowledge. Our aim is to ensure that no deserving student is deprived of education due to financial constraints. We are committed to supporting as many students as possible.”
