Amazon Prime Video is all set to stream Joker, the film that got Joaquin Phoenix his first Oscar for Best Actor at the 76th Academy Awards. After Parasite and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, this is the third Academy Award-winning title from 2020, that will stream on the OTT platform.
Directed and written by Todd Philips, Joker is the story of a troubled struggling comedian Arthur Fleck, who becomes the infamous Joker of Gotham City. The film was critically acclaimed and received a phenomenal box-office success.
Joaquin Phoenix, who played the titular role, swept the Best Actor award at almost every film award ceremony this year, including the Oscars, Golden Globes, BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild Award.
The official handle of Amazon Prime Video India shared a video hinting that Joker will soon be available on the OTT platform.
Joker was released in India on October 2, 2019. It will begin streaming on Amazon Prime from April 20.
