With the help of donors from various weaver Parganas of Gujarat, Shree Uttar Gujarat Vankar Samaj and Pargana Maha Sangh Trust, Gandhinagar have decided to set up a center for social, educational and various creative activities. In a show of solidarity, integrity and identity of the entire Weaver Mahajan have joined hands to raise a building in Kudasan, Gandhinagar. This building will become the standing testimony as well as a symbol of the pride and prestige of the society. The historic Bhumi Poojan ceremony of “Vankar Bhavan” will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024 announced the organisers.
“Ahmedabad West MP Dr. Kiritbhai Solanki will lay the building foundation in the presence of Chief Guest Ramanlal Vora (MLA, former minister, and former Speaker of Gujarat Assembly),” said Dr. Amrit S. Parmar, President, Shree Uttar Gujarat Vankar Samaj.
The general body meeting of Vankar Mahajan will also be held at Ramkatha Maidan, Sector 11, Gandhinagar on Sunday.
Mahasangh office-bearers comprising Dr. Amrit S. Parmar (President), Hargobind P Solanki (General Secretary), Sudhir B Parmar (Financial Advisor), Motibhai R. Vankar (Trustee), Kishore Kumar Solanki (Trustee), Hasmukh Saxena (Co-opted Trustee) and all office-bearers and trustees of the Maha Sangh have appealed to the brothers and sisters of the weaver society to take part in both the events in large numbers.
Dr. Karsandas Soneri (Chief Patron, Mahasangh and Former Minister of Gujarat Government), Kusumben Kanjibhai Chauhan (Patron Mahasangh), Pradipbhai Parmar (Patron, Mahasangh and Former Minister) will grace the Bhumi Pujan with their presence as Guests of Honour, added the organisers.
Apart from this, social leaders of the society, political leaders and high-ranking officials and retired officials as well as donors will also be present at this event.
This Vankar Bhavan will be constructed at a cost of more than Rs 12 crores. This will house coaching classes for entrance exams as well as jobs, a library, and skill development classes for the deserving students from the weavers’ community. In a nutshell, Vankar Samaj Mahasangh aims to build this Vankar Bhavan keeping in mind the career development, social justice and empowerment, economic development, women empowerment, social reform and youth development.
At present, local field-educational and social programs are being conducted in different places of Vankar Samaj. Many weaver brothers and sisters of different Parganas are associated with various social and educational activities. Weaver brothers and sisters from all over Gujarat, including from 10 districts of North Gujarat will keenly participate in this prestigious event.
