The week-long Panchabhut Lokostav celebrations commenced on Monday at Kaneri Math in Kolhapur spread on over 650 acres. It is being celebrated with the guidance of the Saint Kadsiddheshwar Maharaj.
Central and state ministers, devotees from 25 states, delegates from 50 countries, thousands of saints and seers and over five lakh devotees are attending this festival from day 1. The celebrations which commenced on Monday will conclude on Sunday, the organizers said.
The festival sees various environment friendly awareness programs. The festival gets international status as delegates from 50 countries have gathered. Besides it, a 3-day conference of ayurvedic doctors has been organised with expected participation of 4,000 doctors.
Saints across the country, including Maharashtra Bhushan award winner Dr Appasaheb Dharmadhikari, will offer sermons on February 23. The festival is being celebrated under the leadership of proper blending of spirituality with science makes the life soothing mathadhipati Shri Kadsiddheshwar Swami. The other seers and saints participating include Swami Tyag Vallabh Dasji, Madhavpriy Dasji, Swami Sampurnanand ji, Manjit Singhji among others.
The festival will have various cultural programs from various states of the country on all seven days. Thousands of artists are participating in this festival. An exhibition of cows, buffaloes, horses, dogs and cats is also being held at this festival.
Siddhagiri Agriculture Science Centre, in association with the Animal Husbandry department of Maharashtra Government has organised an exhibition between February 21 and 23 aiming at conservation and maintenance of domestic breeds of the livestock for the conservation of the environment.
Kaneri Math trustee Uday Samant said, “All the leading artists from across the globe are participating in the festival and it will prove beneficial to the locals.”
Santosh Patil, Trustee, Shri Kshetra Siddhagiri Kaneri Math said, “Devotees and experts from various fields like agriculture, science, environment from 28 states and 50 countries are participating in the festival on all seven days. More than 4,000 vaidyas, over 10,000 saints are participating in it. We are all set to make the festival a grand success. We have constituted various committees to make it successful.”
