West Bengal became the fourth state on Monday to pass a resolution against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.
The Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool government had tabled the resolution. It was introduced in the state parliamentary affairs minister Partha Chatterjee at 2 p.m. today. The resolution appealed to the Union government to repeal the amended Citizenship (Amendment) Law and revoke plans to implement NRC and update NPR.
Kerala was the first state passed resolution against CAA and it was followed by Kerala and Rajasthan.
