Star Plus, one of India’s most influential general entertainment channels, has launched a month-long ‘Love Utsav’ in Gujarat, transforming the spirit of romance from television screens into lived, festive experiences. The initiative was unveiled on Thursday, perfectly timed with Uttarayan, exactly a month ahead of Valentine’s Day, symbolising love that soars as high as Gujarat’s colourful kites.
The grand launch took place at Vaarso – The Toy Museum, nestled in Dhobini Pol, Khadia, Ahmedabad, a venue chosen deliberately to reflect the rich cultural heritage of Gujarat.
Manasi Parekh: The Face That Connected Gujarat to Love Utsav
Adding star power and cultural warmth to the event was Manasi Parekh, Gujarat’s pride and one of the most celebrated names in contemporary Indian cinema. A three-time National Award winner, including the Best Actress honour at the 70th National Film Awards (2024), Manasi played a key role in introducing Love Utsav to Ahmedabad’s audiences.
Visiting the city during Uttarayan, Manasi reminisced about her cherished childhood memories—kite-flying on rooftops, laughter echoing through the pols, and the unmatched festive buzz of Ahmedabad. Her presence brought an emotional connect to the campaign, seamlessly blending nostalgia, culture and celebration.
An accomplished producer as well, Manasi’s blockbuster Gujarati film ‘Lalo’, now among the highest-grossing films in Gujarati cinema, has also been released in Hindi and is receiving overwhelming love nationwide. She further delighted fans by singing a few lines from her popular song ‘Aapne J Raja Ane Rani’, turning the interaction into a truly memorable moment.
Star Plus Characters Take Love to the Skies
The launch witnessed the presence of some of Star Plus’ most loved on-screen characters. Anupama, along with Raj and Raushni, the leads of the upcoming show Tod Kar Dil Mera, became part of the festivities. While Rupali Ganguly, who essays Anupama, joined virtually from Mumbai to symbolically kickstart the celebrations, Raj and Raushni marked the moment by flying vibrant red kites, signalling the beginning of Love Utsav.
Through her character, Anupama reiterated messages of women empowerment, education, health and the central role of family, reinforcing why the show resonates so deeply with audiences across India.
Manasi Parekh also sang a special song dedicated to the on-screen couple Anurima Chakraborty and Ashish Raghav, adding a heartfelt touch to the celebration.
Gujarati Traditions Meet Modern Romance
The launch seamlessly blended entertainment with tradition. A culturally rooted press conference was followed by kite flying, warm conversations, and an intimate Undhiyu gathering, capturing the true essence of Gujarati hospitality. The celebration wasn’t just an event—it was an experience that honoured local culture while embracing modern expressions of love.
Love That Lives Beyond the Screen
With Love Utsav, Star Plus goes beyond storytelling. Over the coming weeks, the initiative will unfold through city-led activations, community celebrations and immersive on-ground experiences, all building up to a special Valentine’s Week finale.
By taking love into the skies, streets and shared memories of Gujarat, Star Plus reaffirms its promise of delivering emotionally rich, culturally connected and deeply engaging content—where love isn’t just watched, but truly lived.
The celebration was anchored by Gujarati heartthrob and action hero Maulik Chauhan, who kept the energy vibrant and deeply rooted in local flavour.
