Gujarat recorded 848 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, taking its tally to 8,16,234, while the recovery count rose by 2,915 during the day to touch 7,88,293, which is over 96 per cent of the caseload, an official said.

The day also saw 12 deaths, taking the toll to 9,933, he said.
“Vadodara saw 191 cases, followed by Surat with 141, Ahmedabad 134, Junagadh 56, Rajkot 49, Jamnagar 31. Ahmedabad led with three fatalities, followed by two in Surat. There are now 18,008 active cases in Gujarat, including 371 patients in critical condition,” he said.
A release said 2,26,335 people were vaccinated on Sunday, taking the overall number of doses administered so far in the state to 1,84,04,654.
It said 1,82,569 people in the 18-44 age group were vaccinated during the day, taking the number of beneficiaries in this segment to 24,75,528.
An official said the COVID-19 tally in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu rose to 10,391 with the addition of six new cases, while the recovery count increased by 25 to touch 10,201, leaving it with 186 active cases.
