VADODARA, JULY 26
Velocity on Wheels, a group of cycling enthusiasts from Vadodara, organised a Heritage Treasure Hunt on Wheels in the city on Sunday.
The cycle ride, which also marked the first anniversary of Velocity on Wheels, was aimed at bringing awareness among the general public about the rich heritage of Vadodara, which is also known as Sanskar Nagari or Cultural City.
Twenty teams, each comprising four members of 16 years and above, participated in the unique Heritage Treasure Hunt on Wheels. The teams were given seven clues about various heritage sites of Vadodara and were required to identify and visit the sites on cycles. The participants were also required to click pictures of the site. The Heritage Treasure Hunt on Wheels culminated at Charmant Cafe, a 135-year-old heritage monument, in Alkapuri.
The top three winning teams were given attractive prizes by Hamstring, which is soon launching its LA Santa Cafe for fitness enthusiasts and a cycle workshop at Gotri in Vadodara. The participants were also given e-certificates and mementos.
“People who do not about their past, origin, and culture, are like trees without roots. The Heritage Treasure Hunt on Wheels was an attempt to connect with our roots. The places we visited as a part of the treasure hunt form our city’s heritage. We look forward to organising more such events in the coming times,” said Nikita Batra, Founder of Velocity on Wheels.
Naveen Khurana, Director of Hamstring, said, “We are happy to have associated with the Heritage Treasure Hunt on Wheels. We are soon opening a cycle workshop, and the association was a perfect opportunity for us to connect with cycling enthusiasts of Vadodara.”
