In order to address the growing aspirations of NCC cadets to “Join Indian Army”, Army Recruitment Office, Ahmedabad conducted a motivational talk on “Joining the Indian Army” at 1 Gujarat Armoured Squadron NCC, Ahmedabad here on Saturday.
The event was organized to encourage cadets for career in the Indian Armed Forces, particularly the Indian Army. Over 230 NCC cadets from Senior and Junior Division participated with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour, a Defence release said.

In his address, the speaker emphasized the honor and pride associated with serving in the Indian Army. He highlighted how the Army is not just a profession but a way of life – one rooted in the core values of duty, loyalty, integrity, and courage.
The talk focused on the transformational journey of a soldier, from a youth full of energy to a leader of men, a protector of the nation, and an inspiration for society. Special attention was given to the various entry pathways into the Indian Army for NCC cadets.
“The session underscored the benefits of NCC involvement, including enhanced physical fitness, leadership development, and a strong sense of duty, all of which are essential qualities for a successful career in the armed forces,” it said.
“The motivational lecture was well-received, with cadets expressing a heightened sense of motivation and clarity about their potential futures in the Indian Army. Cadets left the venue visibly inspired, with many expressing their determination to join the Indian Army and serve the nation with honor,” the release said.
The event concludes with a rousing rendition of the ‘Jai Hind’ and a collective NCC pledge to continue serving the country with commitment, whether in or out of uniform.
The event also featured a Q&A session, where cadets asked questions ranging from the life in Army, preparation and how to join. The speaker responded with insight and candor, offering practical advice as well as motivational anecdotes from real-life military experiences.
Cadets left the venue visibly inspired, with many expressing their determination to join the Indian Army and serve the nation with honor.
A short documentary film on the Indian Army was also screened during the program, showcasing the life in Army, the camaraderie within regiments, and the diverse operational challenges the Army undertakes from safeguarding borders to providing humanitarian relief during disasters.
