On the occasion of the World Blood Donor Day, Army’s Golden Katar Division at Ahmedabad organised a blood donation camp at Military Hospital, Ahmedabad on Monday. More than 200 units of blood was donated by volunteer Army troops and their families, a release said.
Commenting on this initiative and expressing gratitude, Dr Nidhi, Head of Blood Transfusion at BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad, said, “Army has always been at the forefront with the civil administration in these difficult times.”
Due to COVID pandemic, there is a shortage of blood in the blood banks. To offset this shortage, Army in coordination with the Civil Hospital and BJ Medical College, Ahmedabad, has once again come forward with a motto of ‘Nation First’ and arranged donation of more than 200 units of blood by volunteer Army troops and their families.
