World Food Day is observed on Friday (October 16, 2020) and serves as a reminder that we all play a role in creating a healthier, more sustainable and resilient food system.
This year’s World Food Day theme is ‘Grow, Nourish, Sustain. Together’. As social science has proven, food has a bigger effect on us than just satiating our hunger. Eating the same food builds trust, dining together builds relationships, and cooking good food builds communities.
To observe this day of global awareness, Columbia Pacific Communities, India’s largest senior living community operator is hosting an FB Live session with the Founder & Managing Director of Ace Hospitality & Consulting Chef Abhijit Saha, to discuss the power of food in building communities.
Chef Abhijit Saha has three decades of national and international experience in the Food Service and Hospitality Industry. He has also been awarded ‘Chef of the year’ 2018 by BBC Good Food, India; ‘Chef of the year’ at the Times Food Awards, 2016 and ‘Best Chef of India’ at the Indian Restaurant Congress, 2013, IFCA ‘Chef-Entrepreneur of Year’, 2009 and the ‘SICA Golden Hat Award 2010 to name a few. Known for his work on molecularly gastronomy, Chef Saha authored the highly acclaimed ‘Caperberry The Cookbook’ which showcases many of his signature recipes, narrates his journey as a Chefpreneur and provides insights on the art of successfully setting up and running a fine dining restaurant in India.
The session will be centered around the role of food in connecting people and building communities. Columbia Pacific Communities has championed the cause of positive aging with many of its previous campaigns and espouses the concept of community living in India.
