The ‘Yaksha’ art and cultural celebrations, the precursor to Isha’s Mahashivaratri, began with a vocal performance by a Hindustani singer on Monday at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, says a release.
This year, the festival will go online and will be streamed live on YouTube. It is the first-time that Yaksha will not be open to the public. The popular event usually attracts large audiences as it is not ticketed and is free for all. However, this year, in keeping with pandemic protocols, there will be no live audience for Yaksha, the statement added.
Famous Hindustani singer Kaushiki Chakraborty is performing on Monday. She is an alumnus of the Sangeet Research Academy and a BBC Award winner. Her father, Shril. Ajoy Chakraborty, is also a Hindustani singer. The event will be broadcast on YouTube at 6.00 pm
