Major General Arvind Kapoor, ADG, NCC Directorate Gujarat, Dadra Naga Haveli, Daman & Diu has lauded the NCC cadets by motivating them to continue with their contribution towards social service and community development activities as part of nation-building on International Yoga Day, Monday, says a release.
The International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2021 presented an occasion to underline the health benefits of Yoga, and motivate the public to in pursuit of Yoga. To bring people together all over, while inside their homes and spread the message of traditional Yoga, and taking cognizance of the current COVID-19 situation, use of digital, virtual and electronic platform was deployed for celebrating the IDY 2021.
The staff and Cadets of Gujarat NCC Directorate participated in this celebration by doing the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) at home with their families on Monday. The concept of IDY 2021 was in synergy with the Ministry of AYUSH. The message “Be with Yoga, Be at Home” was sent out to families, peers and friends by NCC cadets to encourage them to actively participate from home in the IDY 2021.

As a prelude, the Gujarat NCC Directorate worked out its Action Plan for NCC cadet level participation, by creating a buzz about the IDY 2021 with the cadets participating in a National level Jingle Composition Competition and taking an online pledge to make Yoga an integral part of their life. The cadets also took part in an online IDY Quiz Competition and the participants were awarded e-certificates.
As part of the pre-event training, the cadets used digital resources for familiarizing and training themselves with the help of CYP training videos available on the Ministry of AYUSH Yoga Portal.
Cadets also uploaded contents on digital media platforms, pictures of their favourite Yoga Asanas stating the reasons for their inclination towards Yoga and also highlighting the importance of Yoga, its benefits and its role in increasing immunity. The cadets successfully motivated a large number of family members and friends in taking part in the International Day of Yoga 2021 and making it a part of their daily routine, the release added.
