Young activist Pinkesh Patel and his team paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy by celebrating his 154th birth anniversary in London on Monday.

The celebration was organised at Mahatma Gandhi’s statue at Westminster, an iconic landmark that stands as an acknowledgement of his profound teachings of truth and non-violence and symbolises the enduring power of peaceful resistance. Patel and his team offered floral tributes at Mahatma Gandhi’s statue and also sang his favourite bhajans.
“Mahatma Gandhi continues to inspire individuals of all ages across the globe. His teachings of love and peace are as relevant today as they were then. We celebrated Gandhi Jayanti at Westminster to honour his ideals and express our resolve to uphold the values that he gave his life for,” said Patel.
The celebrations of Gandhi Jayanti drew participants from diverse backgrounds, reflecting the wide appeal of Mahatma Gandhi’s message. The participants were encouraged to abide by the values and ideas that Gandhi not only preached but also practised and to make the world a better place.
