Delhi Public School (DPS) Bopal brought its rich legacy of excellence to life as students delivered a spellbinding showcase of talent, creativity and confidence at the school’s two-day annual cultural celebration, “Oorukkali 2025”, held at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium.

Marking three decades of the institution’s journey, the celebrations revolved around the thought-provoking theme “Change: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow – (‘परिवर्तन – कल, आज और कल’)”, with students powerfully tracing the evolution of society, values and aspirations through music, dance and theatre.
The concluding day was graced by Minister of State for Primary, Secondary and Adult Education Rivaba Jadeja, actor Devarshi Shah, DPS Bopal Director Vandna Joshi, Principal Sabina Sawhney, along with parents and distinguished guests.
Nearly 500 students across grades mesmerised the audience with seamlessly choreographed performances that reflected discipline, teamwork and artistic maturity well beyond their years. The evening opened on a high note with a unique choral fusion of Katy Perry’s “Roar” blended with the classical Raag Yaman, followed by a graceful Gandhari dance sequence that set the tone for the night.
Presenting the annual report, Principal Sabina Sawhney highlighted key academic, co-curricular and sporting milestones achieved by students during the year, while reflecting on the school’s 30-year journey of nurturing confident and responsible learners. Scholarships and awards were also presented to students who excelled across diverse domains, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic development.

Addressing the gathering, Rivaba Jadeja emphasised the transformative role of education in shaping balanced individuals and a strong society. She encouraged students to remain rooted in discipline, perseverance and a clear sense of purpose, underscoring that true education goes beyond textbooks to build character and resilience.
Actor Devarshi Shah inspired students to pursue their passions with confidence, sincerity and integrity, urging them to remain authentic as they grow.
The celebrations commenced on Monday with “Sitara-e-Sanskriti: Stars of Eternal Values”, presented by around 450 students of grades 3 to 5, with actor and singer RJ Dhvanit Thaker as the special guest. The first day’s performances beautifully conveyed timeless human values through mythology, history and contemporary storytelling.
Young performers portrayed ideals such as wisdom, justice, courage, truthfulness, kindness and compassion, drawing inspiration from iconic figures including King Vikramaditya, Tenali Rama, Ahilyabai Holkar, Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Highlights included the vibrant Kindness Fashion Show, the energetic All-Value Dance, and a grand finale that reinforced the message that values are to be lived, not merely taught.
With parents filling the auditorium on both days and applauding every act, Oorukkali 2025 stood as a proud celebration of student excellence—where culture, learning and values came together, and young minds truly took centre stage.
