NEW DELHI/AHMEDABAD/VADODARA/CHENNAI/MADURAI, OCT 24

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth across India through video conferencing under the Rozgar Mela 2025 initiative — a nationwide mission to empower youth as Karma Yogis and contributors to India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
Addressing the youth, the Prime Minister said, “These appointments are not just government jobs — they are a pledge to serve the nation. Work with honesty, service, and devotion, guided always by the spirit of ‘Narikar Devo Bhava’.”
Rozgar Melas were held simultaneously at 40 locations across the country, including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, and Tiruchirappalli, covering Central Government departments such as Posts, Railways, CGST, Defence, Education, and Health.

Gujarat: Ministers Inspire New Appointees with a Message of Service
At the Vadodara Postal Training Centre, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Minister of Communications and DoNER, distributed 86 appointment letters to new recruits. He said, “The Rozgar Mela reflects India’s unstoppable resolve to empower its youth with skill, dignity, and opportunity — the foundation of a self-reliant Bharat.”
At Ahmedabad’s Sardar Patel National Memorial, Union Minister of State Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya presented 155 appointment letters, including to 29 women candidates. She remarked, “This is not just an employment drive — it’s a movement to build confidence and capability among our young citizens.”
She added that the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Startup India’ missions have together created over 17.6 lakh jobs through 1.6 lakh startups, proving India’s potential as a global hub of innovation.
Krishna Kumar Yadav, Postmaster General of North Gujarat Region, added, “These letters symbolize a golden opportunity to take a lifelong pledge to serve the nation.”

Tamil Nadu: Rozgar Melas Bring Employment and Inspiration to the South
In Tiruchirappalli, Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary distributed 112 appointment letters, saying, “Rozgar Melas reaffirm our mission to make India’s youth partners in nation-building and the dream of Developed India 2047.”
At Coimbatore, Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik handed over 51 appointment letters and urged recruits to “serve with sincerity and integrity, making public service the highest form of duty.”
He also encouraged them to enroll in the Karmayogi Prarambh online training platform for skill enhancement. The event featured a tree plantation ceremony, symbolizing sustainable growth and new beginnings.

In Chennai, Chief Postmaster General G. Natarajan presented appointment letters to 116 youth, while in Madurai, Postmaster General Mariamma Thomas handed out 60 letters.
All recipients expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for creating avenues to serve the nation with pride.
Ancient Wisdom, Modern Resolve
Inspiring the youth, PM Modi quoted from the Bhagavad Gita (2:47):
“Karmanye vadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana” — Do your duty without attachment to results.
The message resonated with the timeless Tamil classic Thirukkural (517):
“ஒழுக்கம் விழுக்கம் தரலான் ஒழுக்கம், விழுப்பம் உயிரினும் ஓம்பப் படும்.”
“Conduct gives greatness; therefore, moral conduct must be cherished more than life itself.”
These messages together emphasize that true nation-building comes from disciplined work, moral values, and the spirit of service.
A Nation Marching Forward
Since October 2022, Rozgar Melas have distributed over 11 lakh appointment letters, providing tangible pathways for youth employment.
The PM Vakti Bharat Rozgar Yojana targets 3.5 crore new jobs, while Skill India and the National Career Service portal have connected over 7 crore opportunities to aspiring youth.
“India’s youth are the architects of a developed nation. Their skill and service will define Bharat’s destiny in the Amrit Kaal,” PM Modi affirmed.
