Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Rozgar Mela – the recruitment drive for 10 lakh personnel on Saturday, via video conferencing. During the ceremony, appointment letters were handed over to 75,000 newly inducted appointees at 50 locations across the country. The Prime Minister also addressed these appointees on the occasion.

In this connection, Southern Railway organized the Rozgar Melaprogrammes in Chennai (Tamil Nadu) and Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala). 255 fresh recruits received the appointment letters in Chennai and 169 personnel received the same in Thiruvananthapuram for various posts in Central Govt. Ministries/Departments.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday distributed appointment letters to new recruits to various government departments as part of ‘Rozgar Mela’, the Centre’s recruitment drive.
Addressing the event at Dr. Ambedkar Arangam, Konnur High Road ICF Colony, Chennai, Sitharaman said Rozgar Mela has ensured an opportunity for even engineering graduates and those educated up to plus two.
“Here is an engineer who landed as Inspector in Income Tax department, another as a probationary officer in a bank and yet another as GST inspector. Many youngsters got jobs in their place of residence or their native state,” Sitharaman said while interacting with the candidates at the event virtually launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A total of 255 people were given appointment letters. The finance minister handed over letters to 25 new recruits on stage.
Tamil Nadu BJP chief Annamalai was also present at the event. The event was organised by the Ministry of Railways, Southern Railways, Chennai Division.
BG Mallya, General Manager, Southern Railway, AKAggarwal, General Manager, ICF, Nitin Gupta, Chairman, Central Board of Direct Taxes, VivekJohri, IRS (C&IT), Chairman, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, K Harikrishnan, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, Southern Railway, Ganesh, DRM, Chennai and Senior officials from various Central Govt. departments such as Banking, Defence,Income Tax, etc. attended the Rozgar event in Chennai.
Muraleedharan distributes appointment letters to 25 personnel among 169 appointees
Union Minister of State for External Affairs & Parliamentary Affairs V Muraleedharan distributed the appointment letters to 25 personnel among 169 appointees who received their appointment letters in Thiruvananthapuram. He also interacted with the new recruits. At Thiruvananthapuram, the Rozgar Mela was held at Rail Kalyana Mandapam, Thampanoor.

The appointees expressed happiness about joining Central Govt jobs and serving the Nation. They also gave positive feedback about the transparent, simplified and tech-enabled selection process.
Selfie standees were placed at the event venues and the new appointees enthusiastically posed for photographs with their appointment letters.
At Thiruvananthapuram, R Mukund, DRM, Thiruvananthapuram and senior officials from other departments such as ISRO, Banks, Border Security Force, CRPF, Department of Posts, Geographical Survey of India, attended the Rozgar event.
The entire target of providing 10 lakh jobs will be completed in a time bound manner in the next 12 months.
India is celebrating completion of 75 years of Independence. 75,000 appointment letters have been today as a first tranche. This process of appointment of 75000 officials every month will be continued for the next one year to complete the target of 10 lakh (Das lakh) appointments. Recruitment will take place across 38 Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and their PSUs/Autonomous Bodies etc.
