AHMEDABAD, OCT 5
Twelve motorcycle riders from the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) have put the Indian Army’s technological transformation on the road, embarking on a 1,250-km expedition from Vadodara to New Delhi to take the message of military technology, engineering excellence and service to the nation to the youth.
Titled ‘Ride With Pride – EME Towards Technological Transformation’, the motorcycle expedition was flagged off by Major General Mohit Gandhi, Commandant, EME School, from the EME School, Vadodara, on Monday.
The expedition will traverse Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaipur before culminating in New Delhi, combining adventure and outreach with an effort to showcase the increasingly technology-driven character of the Indian Army.
The 12-member team will interact with young people during the journey and highlight the critical role played by the Corps of EME in maintaining, upgrading and modernising the Army’s equipment and systems.
Technology meets adventure
Rather than being merely a motorcycle ride, the expedition seeks to take the story of Army engineering and technological transformation beyond military establishments and into communities along the route.
Through interactions with youth, the riders will demonstrate how engineering, technology, innovation and operational preparedness are becoming increasingly interconnected in modern military operations.
The initiative also seeks to create awareness about the diverse technological and engineering opportunities available within the armed forces and encourage young Indians to consider a career in uniform.
EME’s engineering edge
The Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational readiness of the Army’s equipment and platforms. Its responsibilities encompass maintenance, repair, recovery, technological upgrades and engineering support for a wide range of military systems.
The expedition therefore provides an outreach platform to underline how technological capability and engineering expertise contribute to the Army’s preparedness in an increasingly technology-intensive security environment.
A roadshow for the next generation
The route through major cities of western and north-western India is also designed to facilitate greater engagement with the youth.
By taking serving EME personnel directly to communities, the initiative seeks to provide young Indians with a closer understanding of the people, skills and technological ecosystem that support the Army’s operational capabilities.

The interactions are expected to combine the excitement of adventure with a larger message on innovation, discipline, professionalism and service to the nation.
‘Ride With Pride’ carries a larger message
The expedition underscores the Corps of EME’s commitment to innovation, professionalism and outreach, while aligning with the Indian Army’s broader efforts towards technological excellence.
As the riders cover nearly 1,250 km on the road to New Delhi, the expedition is positioned not simply as an endurance journey but as a moving outreach campaign—bringing together adventure, engineering, technology and the Army’s call to young Indians to serve the nation.
