AHMEDABAD, JUNE 6

In a powerful demonstration of its environmental commitment, Cadila Pharmaceuticals planted more than 2,000 fruit-bearing and indigenous saplings in a single day across its major facilities to commemorate World Environment Day, creating one of the company’s largest coordinated green initiatives.

The plantation drive was simultaneously conducted at Shantivan-Dholka, Hirapur, Kadi and other operational locations, symbolising the organisation’s belief that meaningful environmental stewardship is best achieved through collective action and timely execution.

By completing the large-scale exercise within a day, Cadila Pharmaceuticals underscored its resolve to convert sustainability commitments into visible and lasting environmental impact.

The initiative focused on planting fruit-bearing trees and native species that play a vital role in biodiversity conservation, carbon sequestration, soil enrichment and long-term ecological balance. Spread across manufacturing units, campuses and adjoining areas, the plantations are expected to benefit both the environment and surrounding communities.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rajiv I. Modi, Chairman & Managing Director, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, said:

“World Environment Day reminds us that protecting our planet requires decisive action. By planting over 2,000 plants across our locations in a single day, we aimed to create a visible and lasting contribution toward a greener and more sustainable future.”

Employees across the company’s locations actively participated in the campaign, reinforcing a shared culture of environmental responsibility and sustainable development.

The World Environment Day initiative is aligned with Cadila Pharmaceuticals’ broader Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework, which places strong emphasis on responsible growth, resource conservation and community-focused environmental programmes.

By embedding sustainability into its operational philosophy, Cadila Pharmaceuticals continues to champion initiatives that promote ecological resilience, recognising that a healthier planet is fundamental to improving the quality of life for present and future generations.
