- A fun-filled charity ride to commemorate Helen Keller’s Day and support children with Deafblindness gets overwhelming support in Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD, JUNE 25
Over 400 took part in the Sense International India’s 9th Annual Cyclothon – “Messengers on Cycle”, a charity ride to create awareness and support education of children with Deafblindness, held here on Sunday.

It was a spectacular Sunday morning where more than 400+ pedlars, including children and persons with multiple disabilities participated to create space for inclusion, spreading awareness and supporting children and adults with Deafblindness across India.

The ride was flagged off by Akhil Paul (Executive Director), Biju Mathew (Director) and Uttam Kumar (Director) from Blind People’s Association campus. The cyclists successfully covered 3 Km (people with disabilities), 7 Km (children aged 12-17 years) and 15 Km (adults above 18 years).

Nearly 10 tricycle riders, including adults with Deafblindness, and 400+ participated in the Cyclothon. There were games like Life-size Snakes and Ladders, and Zumba which everyone enjoyed a lot. This fun-filled cycling event also had people enjoying and shaking their legs with music and Zumba at the venue.
The participants relished fresh refreshments, ice cream, Badam tea and Iced Tea to rejuvenate after the ride and carried back some interesting gift coupons. Sense International organized this event to create awareness and sensitize people about Deafblindness and to commemorate Helen Keller’s Day.
