The three-day Phase VIII Boot Camp, organized by the Border Security Force, which commenced on Friday, October 4 concluded on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 123rd Battalion at Suigam in Banaskantha district with transformative experience for the students of Maharana Pratap International School, Sagwara, Dungarpur, Rajasthan, says a BSF release.
“Three-Day BSF Boot Camp concluded today, marking another milestone in border tourism and youth engagement initiatives spearheaded by BSF in association with Gujarat Tourism under the Vibrant Village programme of Govt of India. This unique initiative combined basics of military training with an introduction to border management and discipline. Over the course of the camp, the students of Maharana Pratap International School, Sagwara, Dungarpur, Rajasthan immersed themselves in a variety of activities, including physical training, Yoga, obstacle negotiation, route marches, hands-on weapon handling, map reading, judging distance, navigation, survival techniques and Unarmed Combat,” a BSF release said.
In addition to these core exercises, they also enjoyed local sightseeing, a visit to Seema Darshan, and the renowned Retreat Ceremony at Nadabet. The experience was further enriched with cultural programs and campfire, allowing students to showcase their artistic talents and form lasting bonds, reinforcing the team spirit. The students were also given an overview of border management through visits to International Border and Border Out Posts (BOPs), the statement added.
This initiative, driven by the BSF’s commitment to instill patriotism, discipline, and leadership in the nation’s youth, goes far beyond the boundaries of traditional education. It offers participants a holistic experience that combines the adrenaline of military training with border tourism.It also nurture a sense of duty, camaraderie and respect for the security forces.
