MUMBAI, NOV 7
In a powerful collaboration set to redefine India’s shooting excellence, the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU), Mhow — the Indian Army’s premier shooting and Olympic training establishment — has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Reliance Foundation (RF) to strengthen and expand its world-class shooting programme.

This marks the first-ever corporate partnership for sports development by the Army Marksmanship Unit, which operates under the Indian Army’s Mission Olympics Wing. The initiative aims to build a sustainable and elite talent pipeline, preparing Indian shooters for podium success at the 2028 and 2032 Olympic Games.
Currently, the partnership supports 14 top shooters training at AMU, including Paris Olympian Sandeep Singh and Subedar Preeti Rajak, the Army’s first woman Subedar and a rising star in shooting.
Speaking about this historic partnership, Nita M. Ambani, Founder-Chairperson, Reliance Foundation, said:
“It is an honour for Reliance Foundation to partner with the Indian Army and the Army Marksmanship Unit to strengthen their world-class shooting programme.
From Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore to Lieutenant Colonel Neeraj Chopra — the Indian Army has given us heroes who make every Indian proud across sports. I am especially proud that Subedar Preeti Rajak, the Army’s first woman Subedar and a star shooter, is supported by Reliance Foundation as part of this partnership.
This collaboration is not just a programme — it is a Sankalp to see India rise to the very top in sports. Together, we will nurture champions who make the nation proud.”
The MoU focuses on providing scholarships, advanced coaching, sports science integration, international exposure, and access to cutting-edge equipment — empowering India’s shooters to compete at par with the best in the world.
This collaboration underscores a shared vision between the Indian Army and Reliance Foundation — to make India a global powerhouse in Olympic sports, driven by discipline, precision, and patriotism.
As one senior Army official observed, “This partnership is not just about medals — it’s about creating a culture of excellence, where every shot fired echoes the spirit of India.”
The initiative is a shining example of “India Inc. meeting India’s uniformed excellence”, uniting corporate strength with military precision to script a new era in Indian shooting history.
