AHMEDABAD, DEC 18
As the sun powers high-efficiency solar panels and the wind turns advanced turbines, Gujarat is fast consolidating its position as India’s renewable energy manufacturing hub. This momentum was underlined on Thursday with the inauguration of INOXGFL Group’s state-of-the-art solar and wind manufacturing facilities near Ahmedabad by Harsh Sanghavi, Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat.
Addressing the gathering, Sanghavi set the tone for Gujarat’s clean-energy push, stating, “Renewable energy is the future of India’s growth story, and Gujarat has always been at the forefront of driving this transition under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Solar Panels Capture the Sun at Bavla
The INOXGFL Group, through Inox Solar, inaugurated the first phase of its 3 GW fully automated solar module manufacturing facility at Bavla, near Ahmedabad. Equipped with advanced global technology, the plant will manufacture next-generation N-type TOPCon solar modules using M10R and G12R cells, known for higher efficiency, lower degradation and superior reliability.
The bi-facial modules, capable of generating power from both sides, significantly improve capacity utilisation factors (CUF) and overall energy output—ensuring that when the sun shines on Gujarat, it delivers more clean power per panel.
Wind Turbines Take Shape at Kalyangarh
Alongside solar, Inox Wind inaugurated its nacelle and hub manufacturing facility with a capacity of 1.2 GW at Kalyangarh, near Ahmedabad. Approved by NIWE, the facility will manufacture nacelles and hubs for 3 MW class turbines and the upcoming 4X MW class turbines, positioning Gujarat as a key base for next-generation wind technology.
Strategically located, the plant improves logistics to renewable project sites across western and southern India, cutting transport time and accelerating project execution. The nacelle houses the turbine’s core power-generating components, while the hub connects the rotor blades—together forming the heart of a wind turbine.
Jobs, Skills and Local Impact
Highlighting the social impact, Sanghavi said, “Such investments not only strengthen India’s renewable energy manufacturing capabilities but also generate direct and indirect employment, encourage technology leadership, and contribute meaningfully to national energy security.”
He added, “The state-of-the-art manufacturing plants of Inox Solar and Inox Wind in Gujarat will have a positive impact on the lives of locals. The plants will create more than 2,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.”
The projects are expected to generate direct jobs in manufacturing, engineering, quality control and operations, along with indirect employment across logistics, ancillaries, services, maintenance, housing and local supply chains—deepening economic benefits for the region.
Integrated Renewable Powerhouse
With operations spanning wind manufacturing, solar manufacturing, EPC services, operations and maintenance, battery materials and power generation, the INOXGFL Group positions itself as one of India’s most integrated renewable energy players. Its clean-energy arm targets rapid capacity expansion, reinforcing India’s goal of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and strengthening domestic manufacturing.
Industry Outlook
Commenting on the inaugurations, Devansh Jain, Executive Director, INOXGFL Group, said, “We express our sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat for providing the policy framework, promoting domestic manufacturing, and driving the clean energy revolution from the forefront.”
He added, “Our nacelle and hub manufacturing plant inaugurated today will expand Inox Wind’s technological offerings to 4X MW class turbines, along with manufacturing 3 MW class turbines. This will help us expand our access across sites in western and southern India, bringing in new customers.”
On solar expansion, Jain said, “We have ambitious growth plans where we aim to reach a cumulative capacity of 11 GW of solar module and 8 GW of solar cell manufacturing by FY27 in India and overseas, potentially resulting in annual revenue upwards of Rs 20,000 crore. With this, total consolidated revenues for Inox Clean will scale to around Rs 30,000 crore by FY28.”
With sunlight captured in advanced panels and wind harnessed through cutting-edge turbines, Gujarat’s clean-energy ecosystem is rapidly evolving—powering growth, jobs and a greener future for India.
