AHMEDABAD, JAN 12
In a decisive step to align Ayurveda with modern lifestyles, Dabur India Ltd — the world’s largest Ayurvedic healthcare company — on Sunday announced a comprehensive strategic programme aimed at making Ayurveda more accessible, appealing and relevant to today’s health-conscious consumers.
The multi-pronged initiative rests on three key pillars: contemporary packaging of Ayurvedic products, knowledge dissemination through the flagship platform “Ayurveda Samvad”, and expanded community outreach via health camps. The programme comes at a time when global interest in holistic, preventive healthcare is witnessing a sharp upswing.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nitin Berde, Marketing Head – Ethicals, Dabur India Ltd, said the company has rolled out its entire range of Ayurvedic medicines and ethical products in fresh, modern packaging designed to resonate with the new generation.
“The new design features bold brand identities, vibrant colours, and improved readability, ensuring stronger shelf presence and consumer connect. This transformation reflects Dabur’s commitment to blending tradition with modern aesthetics while maintaining the authenticity of Ayurveda,” Dr. Berde said.
To deepen awareness and foster informed dialogue, Dabur is hosting “Ayurveda Samvad” in Ahmedabad, positioning it as a thought-leadership platform for the Ayurvedic ecosystem. The initiative will bring together leading Ayurvedic doctors, researchers and key opinion leaders for SAMBHASA sessions — interactive discussions on Ayurveda’s scientific foundations, real-world applications and its relevance in tackling modern lifestyle disorders.
The deliberations are expected to generate actionable strategies, encourage evidence-based practices, and open new research avenues for integrating Ayurveda seamlessly into everyday healthcare.
Reaffirming Dabur’s long-standing commitment to social responsibility, the company also announced plans to expand its nationwide health camps, offering free health check-ups, Ayurvedic medicines, diagnostic investigations and treatment to underserved communities, thereby strengthening access to holistic care.
Underscoring Dabur’s science-backed approach to traditional medicine, Dr. Berde said:
“Ayurveda is not just an ancient tradition; for us at Dabur, it’s a field of modern science. We are the custodians of this great wisdom, but we also have a responsibility to prove its benefits with hard evidence. That is why we combine the wisdom of the old texts with cutting-edge research, clinical trials, and strict quality checks. Our products are ‘Validated by Heritage, Vindicated by Science.’ This blend of tradition and modern proof is what makes Ayurveda believable and effective for today’s new generation.”
Responding to a query on Ayurvedic doctors prescribing allopathic medicines, Dr. Berde remarked:
“It shows their lack of confidence in ayurveda system.”
Commenting on the introduction of a combined allopathy-Ayurveda undergraduate course by the Union Government-run JIPMER, Puducherry, under the New Education Policy, he said:
“This will be win-win for the patients as they will get the best of both systems. This will also help the ayurveda medicine companies like Dabur.”
Byas Anand, Head – Corporate Communications and CSR, Dabur India Ltd, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the company’s integrated approach towards healthcare awareness, innovation and community wellbeing.
With consumers increasingly gravitating towards natural, preventive and evidence-backed health solutions, Dabur’s renewed focus on modern packaging, scientific dialogue and grassroots outreach reinforces its vision of positioning Ayurveda not merely as a legacy system, but as a trusted, contemporary healthcare solution for fast-paced modern lives.
